At the latter end of last year, Dad and I made the decision to shut his business, jump on a plane to India, and have a holiday (before coming home to open a new one!). Two cousins of mine had been wanting to travel India with me for a while so I told them our plans and they made sure they were in Bangkok ready to be met up with when I passed through.
I posted the photos from Bangkok earlier today, but without further adieu here's the series from India.
Our first stop was Kolkata (also known as Calcutta). We were only here briefly but one day in particular was a highlight for me. My Dad's friend runs a school for underprivileged children called Stars Welfare Society. It is situated near a slum that is home to some 5000 children, and has a roll of about 120. Just over 20 children live at the school as they are orphans. I've never met such beautiful, happy kids in my life.
This little lady was my favourite as you can probably tell. |

They all have perfect teeth! I like the one pulling the seedy face in the fifth photo.
