Andrea

Whilst in Sydney I had the pleasure of hanging with a young woman named Andrea. Admittedly I text her at about 2am the night before asking if she was keen to hang, but it all seemed to work out sort of effortlessly. The kid is an aspiring photographer and we both have quite a few similar goals actually. You can find her photos here and her blog post about our day together here. I'll have you know that we saw a fox in a meadow. A fox. For real. A real one. I didn't even know they existed in Australia.

We ventured into Prospect Reservoir. Was really bummed that this was fenced (and padlocked) off. Ideal location.

Second Home Sydney

I'm lucky enough to have been to Sydney some seven times since 2009 (if my memory serves me correctly). It's a home away from home and this time was the first time I got to drive around in my own car (Thanks, Sam!) as though I lived there permanently.

Following our stint in Queensland, I spent the next three weeks in Sydney. I didn't photograph every day but it was nice to develop a routine and feel at home in a place that's still borderline foreign. In all honesty a lot of these photos are out of chronological order but I don't really feel that it matters because our summers are never anything with a finite beginning or end despite the arrival and departure times that determine them. In fact, I'd go so far to say that our summers are rather... infinite.

(Note that Uppy and I have matching infinity tattoos on our arms)

We spent a fair bit of time with this loser. Uppy also took to photographing things upside down with my camera on this night.

Uppy took me to a cute little mexican place. This was among many different restaurants and cafes she took me to!

Uppy continued to photograph things upside down with my camera. She photographed and reviewed the Fun. concert and we bought the best merch they had.

Uppy's cat, Alaska would sometimes visit my room at night.
Myself, photographed by Uppy. We took the following few shots whilst waiting for our collab with Flourished and Sunkissed to begin.

Uppy turned 21 while I was over so we went out to lunch at a Thai restaurant. There are few things better than food served in a pineapple.

There was one evening where Uppy came home from work and told me to grab my camera and jump in the car because we had to catch golden hour. Alas, we missed it but we did catch twilight. Evenings like this really sum up our friendship to me.

I'll see you soon, Sydney.
