Samara

Now Playing - Epilogue - Lights & Motion

For a while now I've wanted to be more active about working on the way I photograph portraiture. I've talked to a few people about this and how I didn't really know where to begin. In an ideal world I'd be able to work with
  • a model who
    • was someone I knew well enough to feel comfortable with directing,
    • was willing to take risks
    • was happy to brave winter
  • a makeup artist that was
    • professional,
    • friendly
    • proactive
  • a stylist who would be
    • prepared to take risks,
    • helpful in prompting the model
    • understanding of the vision I had (or in some cases, the lack of vision that I had).
By some happy coincidence, I happened to somehow set myself up to work with the dream team that went above and beyond this list. Cannot express how far Samara pushed herself when it came to facing the elements. For a girl that feels the cold like a hairless cat, she didn't once complain about how few layers we had her in on multiple occasions. Debby Esperson is a dream gal and I'm so excited to work with her in the future! As is Amita Kala. If ya need a stylist, hit that woman up.

Further than these three, I had two sidekicks come along to assist me which was awesome. Hats off to Nese and Finn for being my bag gal and bag guy and being great ones at that.

I had such a great time with our dream team and definitely feel like even though I have a lot to learn, I accomplished something. Watch this space, this is something I'll be working on a lot this year!
